The time has come; your company or business needs to be relocated. Where do you start?
Planning your move right will help to create a smooth, hassle free move.
For Employees & Clients:
1. Send a memo with your new address and the approximate moving dates
2. Send out directions for your new location. Be sure to include directions from several different roads, (coming from: north, south, east and west)
3. Create a floor map of the new location, including designated areas for each employee or division.
4. If possible, take your employees for a tour of the new location.
5. Before calling a moving company for an estimate, decided what the responsibilities of your employee's will be in preparing for the move. Decide whether the employees or the moving company will take responsibility for tasks such as: packing files, packing computers, storage, if needed, labeling all the boxes and furniture according to the employees and the floor plan for the new location. This step is important to ensure an accurate moving cost.
6. Contact all your clients or accounts and inform them about the change of address (you can do it by email, mail, fax or phone).
7. Inform all your employees about the final dates of the move and coordinate the time with all other vendors involved with your relocation.
